Rev Dr Ben Lowe became Deputy Executive Director of A Rocha International in February 2022. He was formerly Senior Advisor to the Executive Director and has also served as a Trustee of A Rocha International and Chair of A Rocha USA.
Ben has a BS in Environmental Biology from Wheaton College (IL) and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Ecology from the University of Florida, along with graduate certificates in Nonprofit Leadership and Environmental Communication. His research focuses on the human, religious, and ethical dimensions of environmental change and conservation, both on Lake Tanganyika (East Africa) and across the United States.
Originally from Singapore, Ben is ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance and is the author of multiple books. He was the founding national organizer of Young Evangelicals for Climate Action and has served on the boards of the Au Sable Institute and Christians for Social Action. His work has been featured in media outlets ranging from Audubon Magazine and Christianity Today to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
Ben is currently based in the warm and watery state of Florida, USA, where he can often be found kayaking around the mangroves.
