Involved from the very beginning of A Rocha Switzerland, Steve is an engineer by training who discovered a passion for nature and wanted to get involved hands-on in its preservation. He was Executive Director from 2007 to 2018, working part-time alongside his work as an engineer. He was also involved in nature camps and in visiting churches to provide the biblical basis for a commitment to creation and biodiversity. Currently, most of his time at A Rocha Switzerland is taken by action against global warming (for instance, drafting a declaration on the climate emergency).
Since 2018, he has been a member of the A Rocha Switzerland board and is currently its president. At the beginning of 2021, he joined the A Rocha International board as a regionally-appointed trustee representing Southern Europe and West Asia.
Professionally, after completing a PhD in microelectronics, Steve worked for about ten years as a research manager. In 2014, he founded ecoRobotix, which develops and commercializes intelligent machines that enable a considerable reduction in input in industrial agriculture, making it more environmentally friendly. He is currently the Chief Technology Officer.
